Entrepreneurs: Be Human For Success In The Age Of A.I.

I felt the need to write this.

I wrote every word of this article, not A.I.

Because we are talking about the human factor here.

In business, the human connection has become somewhat lost, yet genuine human connection is an essential element to success. This is especially more so in the online world, where faceless or fake profiles abound, and the absence of in-person relationships can make business dealings feel indiffferent.

Here are some important factors to always keep in mind:

10 MAGIC Ingredients For Online Business Interaction

BE KIND:
ONLY say something to someone online that you would say to their face. People hide behind their social media accounts and therefore feel they can say anything they want with no consequences. Think twice before writing, and think of what the other person might be feeling.

HAVE HUMILITY:
It’s become the trend to show off what you have. It’s okay to be proud of yourself and to share your successes, but ‘contemplate first’ before posting: ‘What does this post say about me?’ It’s easy to revise a post to share your successes in a way that does so without bragging and therefore help your image to be more relatable.

CONTRIBUTE SOMETHING:
Lots of people are takers. You probably know the ones. They want and want, but never contribute anything. They ask questions which they can find themselves, but won’t bother to look up on their own. Be a person who provide answers, tools, links that are needed. Be an action taker. Then direct others to your resources. Not only does this make you someone who contributes, but you will also begin to STAND OUT as a valuable person in your industry. (Hint: This is what I did when I was starting out.)

LESS IS MORE:
This is self explanatory. Whether making a post or having a DM conversation, say less. You don’t need to spill out everything about your biz (you know, those super long DM’s people send). Create interest. Simply give an introduction to it, like an elevator pitch. If they are interested in more info, get their email address and send it there. ๐Ÿ™‚ [NOTE: This doesn’t mean to DM people about your business, this refers to an active conversation you are having via DM with someone.]

GENUINELY CARE ABOUT OTHERS:
It’s not all about you. It never is. What is your WHY? That part may be about you, but when you truly think about it, you can’t get what you want, unless those you are trying to influence, get what they want. If you care about what you want, then you’ll care about others. Write this down somewhere and put it in perspective.

INTEGRITY:
Be known for your values. Many marketers are just looking to get someone to join their business and then they leave them high and dry. Others cross recruit or steal people’s downline’s. Have ethics. The Golden Rule is applicable here: If you wouldn’t want it done to you, don’t do it to others (summarization).

BE TRANSPARENT:
Don’t try to be something you are not. If you are new in your journey, it’s okay to share that. You are human, be real, be your true self. People relate to authenticity.

BE POSITIVE:
Yes, I know this sounds like a cliche, but it’s the truth. If you are negative internally (self talk), that comes through in online business too. Being negative only hurts YOU. If you struggle with this, start small and allow a few positive thoughts each day, you’ll feel better and your attitude will change. People are attracted to positivity and YES that is conveyed online.

OFFER ASSISTANCE:
Wherever possible offer assistance. That doesn’t mean let people take advantage of you, but you can make yourself available for questions or direct someone to where they can locate the answers they need.

DO YOUR BEST:
This means, no matter what you are doing, don’t do it half @ssed, give it your all and always do your best. The results will always come through, even if it’s not the best work, make sure it’s YOUR best work.

Extra Credit if you work up to phone calls, video calls or Zoom calls. This helps you to get to know what is important to the other person and adds a personal layer to your business relationship.

Overall, see the beauty of being an online entrepreneur. It affords you the ability to work from home, turn your kitchen table into your office, make your own schedule and earn more from your efforts than you ever could working for someone else.

We may be able to use much automation in our work, but human connection is essential in every avenue of our business. Let’s always remember that the way we deal with others directly correlates to how successful we are, and this is no different whether we consult in person, or work behind a computer screen.
